On Saturday April 17th, 2010, MYPIE will host the 2nd Annual Young Entreneur Award
Gala. The goal of the network of Miramichi Young Professionals and Involved Entrepreneurs (MYPIE)
event is to not only reward 3 members of the community in the area of community development, entrepreneurship, and profession
or trade, but also to celebrate MYPIE’s accomplishments to date on the River. The awards to be presented that evening are comprised of the following 3 categories
MYPIE
Entrepreneur of the year MYPIE Professional of the year MYPIE
Community Champion of the year. Nominate a deserving individual today!
On Wednesday February 17th, 2010, the Chamber held the
Annual General Meeting in conjunction with the DowntownS Miramichi Newcastle Business District. The meeting was
held at the Goodie Shop, and began at 6:30pm. Hors d'oeuvres followed at 7:30pm with Guest
Speaker Richard Leblanc, Executive Director of the New Brunswick Council of CEO. The new Board of Directors for 2010
were annouced. Welcome to Wally McLean of Mighty Miramichi, Elaine Goodin of RBC, Andrew MacMullin of the Miramichi
Leader and all of our returning board members.
On October 20th, 2009, the Chamber hosted the
11th annual Gala Evening and Business Awards Dinner at the Rodd Miramichi River . The evening began with a
cocktail hour at 6:30pm with the dinner and award presentation at 7:30pm.
The Gala honors
businesses that have played an important role in the growth of our community and this year, the Chamber recognized two
businesses who had not only built successfull businesses that have thrived here in Miramichi but also show
a determination to remain in Miramichi.
The awards this year will be presented to two businesses, Northshore Construction and The Rodd Miramichi
River.
