Our History
The Greater Miramichi Chamber of Commerce has long been a driving force behind the region’s economic progress. Before becoming a single organization, the communities of Chatham and Newcastle were each represented by their own Boards of Trade.
In 1981, these two boards officially amalgamated to form the Greater Miramichi Chamber of Commerce—a unified voice for business across the region.
Since then, the Chamber has grown and adapted to meet the needs of a changing economy, while staying true to its roots of supporting, connecting, and advocating for local businesses.
